Temecula has evolved into a true destination place offering something for everybody. Temecula's history is as vast as it is varied. The original people of the land, known as the Pechanga Band of Luiseño, own and operate the Pechanga Resort and Casino. The name "Temecula" itself is derived from the Luiseño word "Temeekunga", which can be translated as- "the place of the sun".
